Why choose

Off-Piste Ski Lessons in Verbier

Every off-piste lesson is shaped around your skiing, your experience and the conditions on the mountain. Your instructor will assess where you are technically, understand what you want to achieve and choose terrain that gives you the best opportunity to progress.

Technique & Confidence
Develop the skills needed to ski powder, variable snow and more challenging terrain with greater control, efficiency and confidence.

Terrain & Local Knowledge
Verbier offers an enormous variety of off-piste terrain. Your instructor will use their local knowledge to select routes suited to your ability, the snowpack and the conditions on the day.

Mountain Awareness & Safety
Off-piste skiing involves more than technique. Throughout the lesson, your instructor can develop your understanding of terrain, avalanche awareness, equipment and decision-making in the mountain environment.

Coaching at Your Level
You don’t need to be an expert freeride skier. Coaching is adapted to your experience, whether you’re taking your first steps beyond the pistes or looking to improve more advanced off-piste skills.

Qualified Off-Piste Instructors
Off-piste lessons are delivered by appropriately qualified and authorised instructors, combining technical coaching with the experience required to operate beyond the marked pistes.

What to expect

From the moment you book, your off-piste session is shaped around your skiing, your goals and the conditions on the mountain. Before the lesson, we’ll usually discuss your experience and what you’d like from the session so your instructor can start considering suitable terrain and a plan for the day.

Before Your Lesson – We’ll get an understanding of your skiing experience, previous off-piste experience and what you’d like to achieve. Your instructor can then begin planning the session around your ability, the forecast, snow conditions and current mountain conditions.

Meet & Review – Meet your instructor at the agreed meeting point, review the plan for the day and make any adjustments based on the latest conditions.

Safety & Equipment – Before heading off-piste, your instructor will check the necessary safety equipment and cover the relevant safety considerations for the terrain and session.

Your Skiing – Once on snow, your instructor will assess your skiing and identify the technical areas that will make the biggest difference to your performance off-piste.

Coaching & Exploration – Develop those skills across terrain selected for your ability and the conditions. Coaching, feedback and terrain choices adapt throughout the session as you progress.

Mountain Skills – Where appropriate, your instructor can develop your avalanche awareness, terrain management and decision-making alongside your skiing.

Finish – Review what you’ve worked on, the progress you’ve made and the next steps for continuing to develop your off-piste skiing.
