Whether you're staying in Morzine, driving over from a nearby village or visiting for the day, knowing where to park can save you time, avoid unnecessary walking in ski boots and get you onto the slopes much faster.
The good news is that there are several excellent parking options, each offering easy access to different parts of the Portes du Soleil.

📍 Best for: Short visits, cafés, shops and village access
💰 Cost: Mostly pay and display, with some limited free parking
If you're spending some time in Morzine before or after skiing, the town centre offers plenty of convenient parking options.
Most of the central car parks operate on a pay and display basis, while some of the smaller side streets offer free parking for up to an hour. The rules and time limits vary, so it's always worth checking the signs before leaving your vehicle.

However, if you're planning a full day on the mountain, we'd usually recommend parking closer to the main lifts. It saves carrying your equipment through town and gets you onto the slopes much more quickly.

If you're planning to spend the day skiing the Morzine and Les Gets side of the resort, parking at the Le Pléney gondola is one of the most convenient options.
The underground pay and display car park is located right beside the lift, making it easy to park, collect your equipment and head straight onto the mountain without a long walk in ski boots.
As Morzine's main lift, Le Pléney provides quick access to a fantastic network of blue, red and black runs, making it a great starting point for skiers of all abilities.
Its central location also means you're only a short walk from cafés, restaurants and ski shops if you need to pick up anything before or after skiing.

📍 Best for: Accessing Super Morzine, Avoriaz and the Portes du Soleil
💰 Cost: Pay and display
The Palais des Sports car park is another excellent option, particularly if you're planning to ski Avoriaz or explore the wider Portes du Soleil.
Located beneath the suspension bridge, it's just a short walk from the Super Morzine gondola. Two escalators take you directly up to the lift station, making the journey quick and easy, even with your ski equipment.
From Super Morzine, you can access Avoriaz before continuing into one of the largest linked ski areas in the world, with endless terrain to explore throughout the day.
If Avoriaz is your destination, this is one of the most convenient places to start your ski day from Morzine.

If your plan is to spend the day skiing in Avoriaz, many locals choose to drive straight to the Prodains Express cable car.
There's a large main car park, along with an overflow parking area during busier periods, making it one of the most popular starting points for skiers heading into the resort.
The Prodains Express cable car takes you directly into the heart of Avoriaz in just a few minutes, avoiding the need to ski over from Morzine. It's one of the fastest and easiest ways to access the mountain, particularly if you're keen to maximise your time on the snow.
During school holidays and peak winter weeks, this car park fills up quickly, so we'd always recommend arriving early to give yourself the best chance of securing a space.

If you're looking for free parking, the Ardent gondola is one of the best options in the Portes du Soleil.
The large car park provides direct access to the Ardent gondola, making it a popular choice for both locals and visitors heading towards Avoriaz, Lindarets and the wider Portes du Soleil ski area.
From the top of the gondola, you'll have quick access to a huge variety of terrain, making Ardent an excellent starting point whether you're planning a relaxed day cruising blues or exploring further across the resort.
Like Prodains, Ardent becomes extremely busy during weekends, school holidays and peak winter weeks. Arriving early is the best way to secure a space and avoid unnecessary delays at the start of your day.

If you're staying around Morzine and Les Gets, Le Pléney is the most convenient option, putting you right beside the main gondola with quick access to the local ski area.
If you're heading towards Avoriaz, the Palais des Sports car park offers easy access to the Super Morzine gondola, while Prodains Express provides one of the fastest direct routes into the resort.
If you're looking to save on parking, Ardent is hard to beat. With free parking and excellent access to Avoriaz and the wider Portes du Soleil, it's a favourite starting point for many locals and regular visitors.
Whichever option you choose, arriving early during weekends and school holidays will always give you the best chance of finding a convenient space and getting onto the mountain without delay.
