Are lift passes and equipment included with lessons?

No. Lift passes and equipment are not included in the lesson price unless specifically stated. Guests should arrange both before the lesson begins.

Do I need a lift pass for my lesson?

In most cases, yes. A valid lift pass is required to access the ski area. The correct pass depends on your resort, ability level and lesson objectives.

What lift pass do I need in Verbier?

For many lessons, a local Verbier ski pass is sufficient. Beginners may only need a Les Esserts pass, while skiers exploring the wider area may require a 4 Vallées pass. We can advise before your lesson if you are unsure.

What lift pass do I need in Morzine?

The best pass depends on where you plan to ski. A local Morzine-Les Gets or Avoriaz pass may be enough if staying in one area, while the full Portes du Soleil pass is best for exploring the wider ski area.

Do beginners need a full-area lift pass?

Not always. Beginners often only need access to nursery slopes or local beginner lifts. We’ll advise on the most suitable lift pass based on your lesson location and ability level.

Do children need a lift pass?

Yes, children generally need a lift pass to use ski lifts. In Verbier, children under 6 ski free, although a key card fee and proof of age may be required. In Morzine, children under 5 usually ski free, with proof of age required.

Can I buy lift passes online?

Yes. Lift passes can usually be purchased online before arrival or directly from resort lift ticket offices.

What happens if I lose my lift pass?

Lost lift pass policies are managed by the lift company, not Pulse Snowsports. It's an easy fix, just contact the relevant lift office directly for a replacement.

Do I need to own my own ski equipment?

No. Ski and snowboard equipment can be rented locally in Verbier, Morzine and Avoriaz. Rental is usually the best option for most holiday skiers.

What ski equipment do I need?

You will need skis, ski boots and poles. Snowboarders will need a snowboard and snowboard boots. All guests should also wear a helmet, appropriate ski clothing, gloves and goggles or sunglasses.

What should I wear for a ski lesson?

Wear waterproof ski trousers and jacket, thermal base layers, warm mid-layers, ski socks, gloves or mittens, a helmet and goggles or sunglasses. Sunscreen and lip balm are also strongly recommended.

Do I need a helmet?

Yes. Helmets are compulsory for Pulse Snowsports lessons. Safety is a priority, and all adults and children should wear a properly fitted helmet on the mountain.

Do children need ski poles?

Young beginner children often do not need poles for their first lessons. We usually recommend that children under 7 focus on balance and basic movement without poles before introducing them later when appropriate.

What ski length should I use?

The best ski length depends on your height, weight, ability level and skiing goals. Rental technicians can help choose suitable equipment, and your instructor can advise if something does not look appropriate.

Can my instructor help check my equipment?

Yes. Your instructor can help check whether your equipment looks suitable for the lesson, although rental shops remain responsible for correct fitting and adjustment.

Where can I rent ski equipment in Morzine?

We recommend Doorstep Skis in Morzine. They offer ski and snowboard hire, including delivery and fitting directly at your accommodation, as well as a central shop in Morzine.

Can I hire avalanche safety equipment?

Yes. Avalanche safety equipment can usually be rented locally in Verbier and Morzine. This may include a transceiver, shovel and probe.

What avalanche equipment do I need for off-piste skiing?

For off-piste skiing, all participants should carry a transceiver, shovel and probe in a suitable backpack. Your instructor will advise before the lesson if additional equipment is required.

Do I need touring equipment for off-piste lessons?

Most lift-accessed off-piste lessons do not require touring equipment. If touring equipment is needed for a specific objective, we’ll discuss this with you in advance.

What should I bring to my lesson?

Bring your ski or snowboard equipment, a valid lift pass, helmet, warm mountain clothing, gloves, goggles or sunglasses, sunscreen, water and any personal items you may need during the session.

What should I bring for a full-day lesson?

For a full-day lesson, bring everything needed for a normal ski day, plus water, snacks, sunscreen, extra layers and any medication or personal essentials you may need on the mountain.
