Planning your first ski holiday to Morzine? With over 600 km of pistes across the Portes du Soleil, fantastic mountain restaurants, lively après ski and countless places to explore, knowing how to make the most of your week can feel overwhelming.

To help, we've put together what we think is the perfect seven-day Morzine itinerary.

It's based on the way we'd recommend friends and family experience the resort, combining fantastic skiing, some of our favourite mountain restaurants, unforgettable après ski, and a few local recommendations from the Pulse Snowsports team along the way.

Whether you're visiting Morzine for the first time or returning to discover more of the Portes du Soleil, this itinerary will help you make the most of every day on the mountain.

Seven-day Morzine ski holiday itinerary showing the recommended activities, ski areas and highlights for each day, from arrival through to departure.

Saturday – Arrival Day

After landing at Geneva Airport, your holiday officially begins.

For the easiest journey to Morzine, we'd recommend booking a transfer in advance. One of our favourites is Skiddy Gonzales, with the journey typically taking around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

Once you've arrived in Morzine, check into your accommodation and take some time to settle in. If you're staying with Jack & Jill Holidays, you'll be welcomed with drinks, shown around your chalet and have plenty of time to unpack before your first evening in the Alps.

Rather than rushing out, we'd recommend taking it easy. Enjoy a relaxed dinner prepared by your chalet chef, meet the rest of your group and get an early night. Tomorrow is your first day on the mountain, and you'll want to be feeling fresh.

Sunday – Find Your Ski Legs

After a hearty breakfast, it's finally time to click into your skis and experience everything Morzine has to offer.

For your first morning, we'd recommend starting from the Pléney gondola. The slopes here are ideal for finding your ski legs, getting comfortable with your equipment and easing yourself into the week ahead.

This is also the perfect time to meet your Pulse Snowsports instructor. Whether you've booked a half-day lesson, a full day or coaching throughout the week, your instructor will tailor every session to your ability, goals and the conditions on the mountain.

One of the biggest advantages of skiing with a local instructor on your first day is learning how the resort fits together. You'll quickly discover the best routes, quieter pistes, hidden viewpoints and where to find the best snow, giving you confidence for the rest of your holiday.

Starting your holiday with a private ski lesson in Morzine is one of the quickest ways to build confidence, discover the resort and make the most of your week.

When lunchtime arrives, book a table at Le Vaffieu. It's one of our favourite mountain restaurants and somewhere we regularly recommend to guests. The food is consistently excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed and it's the perfect place to refuel before heading back onto the slopes.

As the lifts begin to close (times vary throughout the season), make your way back down into Morzine and head straight to Le Tremplin. Recently renovated by the Timpson family, it's become one of the best après ski venues in the resort, with live music, DJs, indoor and outdoor seating, and its famous spinning dance floor that always gets people involved.

Round off your first day with a soak in the hot tub before sitting down to another fantastic chalet dinner. It's the perfect way to recover before another full day on the mountain tomorrow.

Monday – Explore Les Gets

After breakfast, it's time to venture beyond Morzine and discover one of its closest neighbours, Les Gets.

Connected by a network of scenic lifts and wide, flowing pistes, Les Gets has a slightly different feel to Morzine. The slopes are quieter, the village has plenty of Alpine charm and it's a fantastic place to spend a relaxed day exploring.

If you've booked another lesson with your Pulse Snowsports instructor, today is the perfect opportunity to continue building confidence while discovering a new part of the ski area. We'll show you the best routes, help you avoid unnecessary bottlenecks and make sure you get the most from every run.

Exploring a new area with one of our private ski lesson in Morzine is a great way to build confidence while discovering the best routes and hidden gems.

When lunchtime arrives, we'd highly recommend La Païka. Famous for its incredible barbecue and welcoming atmosphere, it's one of those restaurants that guests often end up returning to before the end of their holiday.

On your way back towards Morzine, keep an eye out for the music at Le Vaffieu. If the terrace is buzzing, it's well worth stopping for a quick drink and soaking up the atmosphere before enjoying one last ski back to the village.

And if you've still got some energy left in the tank, there's only one way to finish the day—a final run down the Pléney followed by another visit to Le Tremplin for a well-earned après ski.

Back at the chalet, relax in the hot tub before sitting down for another excellent evening meal and getting ready for tomorrow's adventure in Avoriaz.

Tuesday – Discover Avoriaz

Today, it's time to explore one of the highlights of the Portes du Soleil: Avoriaz.

Start your morning by taking the Super Morzine gondola before making your way into the higher-altitude terrain that makes Avoriaz one of the most snow-sure resorts in the Alps.

If you're staying in self-catered accommodation, our guide to the best cafés in Morzine will help you find the perfect breakfast before heading up the mountain. We'd recommend grabbing breakfast before heading up the mountain. Colibri, Solid'e Café and Satellite Coffee are all fantastic choices, although they're popular during school holidays, so arriving early is a good idea.

Once you're in Avoriaz, spend the morning exploring its wide pistes, unique cliff-top architecture and spectacular mountain scenery.

If you're a confident skier, make time to visit The Stash, Burton's famous natural snow park hidden amongst the trees. Even if freestyle isn't your thing, it's well worth skiing through to see one of the most unique snow parks in Europe.

For lunch, head down to Les Lindarets, better known as the Goat Village, and book a table at La Terrasse. Traditional Savoyard dishes, friendly service and one of the most memorable settings in the Portes du Soleil make it one of our favourite lunchtime stops.

In the afternoon, ski down towards the Ardent gondola and stop at Happy Hours, one of the valley's most popular après ski venues.

If you're visiting on a Wednesday, you'll usually find an especially lively atmosphere as it's traditionally the chalet hosts' day off. Expect DJs, dancing on the tables and one of the best après ski parties in the region. When you're ready to head back, you can either arrange a taxi or catch one of the regular buses into Morzine.

For your evening meal, treat yourself to dinner at La Chaudanne. If you're a meat lover, the Côte de Bœuf is one of the standout dishes on the menu.

Wednesday – Venture into Switzerland

By the middle of the week, you'll have found your rhythm on the slopes, making today the perfect opportunity to explore the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil.

From Avoriaz, make your way towards Champéry, Les Crosets and Champoussin, three beautiful resorts that offer a different feel to the French side of the ski area. The scenery becomes more dramatic, the villages quieter and the pistes are often noticeably less crowded.

This is also a fantastic day to ski some longer routes, linking together multiple resorts while enjoying panoramic views across both France and Switzerland.

Before heading into Switzerland, make sure you have the right lift pass. Our Morzine Lift Pass Guide explains which pass you'll need to explore the entire Portes du Soleil.

For lunch, we'd recommend Chez Gaby 1670, a traditional Swiss mountain restaurant known for its spectacular terrace, hearty local cuisine and incredible views over the Dents du Midi. It's the perfect place to slow down, enjoy a long lunch and experience a different side of the Portes du Soleil.

As you make your way back towards Morzine in the afternoon, keep an eye on the time. The Swiss sector involves a little more travelling, so you'll want to leave yourself plenty of time to return before the lifts close.

Back in Morzine, spend the evening relaxing after one of the biggest ski days of the week. Whether that's another soak in the hot tub, a quiet drink in town or an early night, tomorrow you'll be ready for another full day on the mountain.

Thursday – Challenge Yourself

By Thursday, you've had several days to build confidence, explore the resort and settle into your skiing. Now it's time to push yourself a little further.

Whether that means tackling steeper red runs, venturing onto your first black piste or improving your technique with another Pulse Snowsports lesson, today is all about progression.

If you've been skiing with one of our instructors earlier in the week, you'll probably be surprised by how much your confidence has grown already. Thursday is often the day guests realise they're skiing runs they never thought they'd attempt at the start of the holiday.

Spend the morning exploring whichever area you've enjoyed the most so far. You might return to the wide pistes of Avoriaz, the quieter slopes around Les Gets or head back into Switzerland for another adventure. This is your chance to revisit your favourite part of the Portes du Soleil.

For lunch, choose somewhere with a view and take your time. By now you'll have discovered that some of the best moments of a ski holiday happen off the slopes too—sharing stories over lunch, watching skiers pass by and soaking up the mountain atmosphere.

After lunch, finish the day by skiing some of your favourite runs from earlier in the week. You'll often be amazed at how much easier they feel compared to your first attempt.

As the lifts close, enjoy one final après ski at your favourite venue before heading back to your accommodation for a relaxing evening.

Friday – Make the Most of Your Final Full Day

It's your final full day on the mountain, so now's the time to revisit your favourite runs and make the most of everything you've discovered throughout the week.

By now, you'll know your way around the Portes du Soleil with confidence. Instead of worrying about maps or lift connections, you can simply enjoy skiing.

If there was a part of the resort you wished you'd spent more time exploring, whether that's the tree-lined pistes of Les Gets, the high-altitude bowls around Avoriaz or the quieter Swiss sector, today is your chance to go back.

If you've been taking lessons throughout the week, Friday is the perfect day to bring everything together. You'll notice how much more relaxed your skiing feels compared to Sunday, and you'll probably find yourself choosing runs that would have looked intimidating just a few days earlier.

For lunch, return to your favourite mountain restaurant from the week. There's something special about ending your holiday with one last long lunch on a sunny terrace, reflecting on everything you've experienced.

As the afternoon draws to a close, finish with your favourite run back into Morzine. Rather than squeezing in one last lift, enjoy the descent, take in the views and appreciate just how much you've packed into the week.

Of course, no final ski day would be complete without one last après ski. Whether that's celebrating at Le Tremplin, enjoying a quiet drink with friends or simply relaxing back at your chalet, it's the perfect way to round off an unforgettable week in the mountains.

Saturday – Departure Day

After an unforgettable week in the mountains, it's time to say goodbye to Morzine.

If you have a little time before your transfer, enjoy one last walk through the village, pick up a few souvenirs or stop for breakfast at one of your favourite cafés. It's the perfect chance to soak up the atmosphere before heading home.

If you've hired equipment, make sure you return it in plenty of time and double-check you've packed everything before leaving your accommodation. A final look around the chalet can save you from leaving behind goggles, gloves or chargers.

As your transfer winds its way back towards Geneva Airport, there's a good chance you'll already be talking about your next ski holiday. That's the effect Morzine has on people. One visit is rarely enough.

Whether you've spent the week improving your skiing, exploring new terrain or simply enjoying time with family and friends, you'll head home with memories that last long after the snow has melted.

We hope to welcome you back to Morzine again soon.
