Morzine is our home resort and, in our opinion, one of the best places to base yourself when skiing the Portes du Soleil. It offers easy access to both the Morzine/Les Gets and Avoriaz sectors, along with a huge choice of restaurants, bars, cafés and après ski.
Whether you're visiting as a family, travelling with friends or planning a luxury ski holiday, Morzine has accommodation to suit almost every style and budget.
If you're looking for a chalet holiday, we would always recommend Jack & Jill Holidays.
They offer an excellent range of catered and self-catered chalets across Morzine, whether you're travelling as a couple, family or larger group. Their properties range from traditional alpine chalets full of character to modern luxury accommodation, and their friendly team always goes above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable.
One of the biggest advantages of staying in a catered chalet is being able to relax after skiing while someone else prepares breakfast, afternoon tea and a delicious evening meal. It's one of the easiest ways to make the most of your holiday.

If you're looking for a quieter, more traditional Alpine village, Les Gets is a fantastic choice.
With its charming chalet-style architecture, welcoming atmosphere and family-friendly ski terrain, it's one of the most popular destinations in the Portes du Soleil for families and those looking for a more relaxed pace of holiday.
Although smaller than Morzine, Les Gets still offers excellent access to the wider ski area, making it easy to explore both local slopes and neighbouring resorts throughout your stay.

They offer an excellent selection of both catered and self-catered chalets throughout the resort, ranging from cosy alpine properties to luxurious larger chalets that are perfect for family holidays or groups of friends.

If you're looking for a luxury hotel, Hôtel Christiania is a fantastic choice.
Situated in the heart of Les Gets, it combines elegant alpine design with outstanding service, making it an excellent base for a relaxing ski holiday. Its central location also means you're just a short walk from the lifts, restaurants and village centre.
Les Gets is one of our favourite recommendations for families. The relaxed village atmosphere, excellent beginner terrain and easy-to-navigate resort make it a brilliant choice if you're skiing with younger children or first-time skiers.

If your priority is spending as much time on the slopes as possible, Avoriaz is hard to beat.
Unlike Morzine and Les Gets, Avoriaz is a purpose-built ski resort where almost everything is designed around skiing. Many hotels and apartments offer genuine ski-in, ski-out accommodation, allowing you to step outside, clip into your skis and head straight onto the mountain.
The resort also sits higher than both Morzine and Les Gets, making it a great option if you're looking for reliable snow conditions throughout the winter.

With beautifully designed modern rooms, an outstanding spa and swimming pool, and one of the best locations in the resort, it's a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a luxury ski holiday. It comes with a premium price tag, but if you're looking to treat yourself, it's well worth considering.
Another excellent option is Pierre & Vacances Premium L'Amara.
Although the accommodation is apartment-style, guests still benefit from many hotel-style facilities, including reception services, wellness areas and spacious, modern apartments that are ideal for families and groups.
If you're looking for something truly special, Avoriaz has some spectacular luxury chalets.
We'd recommend taking a look at VIP Ski, who offer several beautiful catered chalets in the heart of the resort. Many enjoy incredible mountain views and genuine ski-in, ski-out access, making it easy to maximise every day on the slopes.
For keen skiers, waking up, stepping straight onto the piste and skiing away from your front door is about as good as it gets.
If your main goal is skiing from first lift to last, Avoriaz is our top recommendation. Being able to leave your accommodation on skis and return without needing buses or cars makes every ski day feel effortless.
